June 12, 2008 - Amsterdam, Netherlands
9 Knots Business Solutions Ltd came joint third in the keenly-fought RAD Race 2008 competition held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on 11 and 12 June. It was the first time 9 Knots had entered this competition, designed to truly test Rapid Application Development (RAD) skills. RAD Race is open to two-person teams which must develop a computer system to a specification handed out at the start of day 1 and revised from time to time until the race ends on day 2. A jury of well-respected industry players score the teams at various stages.
The 9 Knots team of Bertus Dispa and David Swann were pleased with their company's debut performance. "We know what to expect now and are confident that we will do even better next year".
They reported that one of the most pleasing aspects was confirming that 9 Knots' software development technology can hold its own in strong company, and was not beaten on productivity by any of the more widely-used RAD tools.
9 Knots said: "RAD Race 2008 was great fun but had a more a serious side in providing real evidence for our customers that their systems are built on a development platform that can impress under testing conditions. Our customers have always known we can build systems to suit their business needs in lightning time - this helps explain how we do it."
